The Salvation Army has been dealing with homelessness since it first planted its flag in Los Angeles in 1887.

In just the past two years, The Salvation Army in Southern California provided more than 800,000 nights of lodging for the homeless, fed more than 2 million hungry people and on a national level, has provided a wide range of social services to 27 million Americans.
